Our "New" House

We have been so bad about updating this site for quite some time.  I'm really sorry...

We're trying to get better, and in our first attempt, here are some pictures of our "new" house.  We moved in on December 5, 2009!

Keep checking for more updates as we just returned from a family vacation in Phoenix, AZ this past Saturday.  While the kids are napping today, I plan to get more pictures posted.

A view from the backyard

Our gardens.  We are growing strawberries (successful!), raspberries (pitiful!), corn, squash & green beans (okay!) and tomatoes, pumpkins and cucumbers (fantastic!).  The kids love going outside nightly to collect our harvest.

Our park!  The city is currently working on the construction of the 13 acre park - right in our backyard.  We're all very excited to see it completed!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

I need to take a minute here to tell everyone what an amazing and wonderful husband that I have.  Yesterday afternoon, while I was napping on the couch, he snuck out of the house and picked up our babysitter and brought her back to our house.  He woke me up and told me that we were going out… on a date!  

For those of you with small children and no family living nearby, know just how rare of an occurrence this can be. 

It was a wonderful and very thoughtful surprise that I found out was almost two weeks in the making.

We went out for an early dinner, followed by a movie (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1 – we still hadn’t seen it).  We were home in time to spend a little bit of time with Meghan and Freddie and to put them to bed.

Thank you, sweetheart.  I love the sentiment, and I love you even more.  I’m so thankful that you are my husband. 

Christmas Thank You's

We tried to get a good picture of the kids tonight for our Christmas Thank You cards.  They started out cooperating... but soon went downhill.  Enjoy the progression of Meghan's mood. :)

Trains!

Fred and Meghan had a ball during our winter break one afternoon and built as big of a train that they could.  They had a blast!

A Boy and His Truck

Freddie got a big truck for Christmas.  He and Meghan just LOVE to play in it.  Freddie enjoys his rides (Meghan pushes him around the house) and also loves to crash into his sister's new dollhouse with it!

Boxes are Fun!

There's something about boxes that kids love.  Enjoy the pictures of the kids playing in the box that we got from Amazon recently - it used to hold big boxes of diapers.  Now, it's a fort for Meghan and Freddie!
